Fashion Week Report: The Autumn Winter 2020 Trends To Start Wearing Now

It’s that time of the year again, like every year in February, the Fashion Month has launched with a runway marathon. So many questions about what will be the colours and The Fashion Trends of Autumn Winter 2020. As personal stylists, we have carefully selected the most wearable and timeless trends that will stay in your wardrobe forever. Our fashion week report features the three Autumn Winter 2020 trends that you can start wearing right now.

A Pop of Colour

Autumn Winter 2020 Fashion Trends

Maje Woven Suit | Crystal Bracelet | Jacquemus Mini Bag |  Rixo Earrings | VB Suede Pumps

From New York to London Fashion Week, pop of colour was everywhere this fashion month. Carolina Herrera, Huishan Zhang and Victori Beckham delivered very diverse collections with bright colours and prints back in the spotlight. Wondering what the colours of Autumn Winter 2020 will be? Vibrant ultraviolet is leading the charts, followed by fuchsia pink and cobalt. We also saw lots of emerald green, vibrant yellow, scarlet red and classic blue (the Pantone of 2020) … As every trend in this report, the Pop Of Colour comes with the promise to stay for a few seasons.  The easiest way to create an impactful look is to style the trend tonal – choose a vibrant colour and wear it head-to-toe. A fuchsia tailored suit styled with a fitted vest top and smart trainers will become your new urban uniform. If you are not used to strong colours, add a pop of colour with an accessory such as multicoloured crystal bracelet, earrings or a mini bag.  A  pair of suede violet pumps will immediately elevate your classic two-piece suit or a little black dress.

“Wearing energetic pops of colour brightens up the facial features while projecting confidence and individuality. Find the best tropical shades that suit your complexion and you will wear them season after season – a stylist promise!”

Dark Romance from Autumn Winter 2020 Trends

|  Ruffled Dress | Vintage Chanel Brooch | Agent Provocateur Corset | RED(V) Bag | Philosophy Blouse | Rose Earrings | Valentine Belt

This season’s romantic look came with high octane of drama  – moody hues giving depth to delicate florals, botanical Victorian prints, voluminous shapes styled with velvet and lace corsets. Victoria Beckham AW fashion show set the tone for the shape of the season – soft tailoring styled with romantic fluid blouses with exaggerated poet sleeves. Thank you, Victoria, for this sleek and uber wearable trend! The darkly romantic trend also was everywhere at London Fashion Week catwalks  – Erdem, Anna Sui, Richard Quinne and Christopher Kane. The use of botanical floral prints was prominent – a timeless trend that will bring a touch of femininity to your wardrobe. The Underwear As Outerwear look had a major comeback with exposed bras and delicate corsets at the David Koma Autumn Winter 20 show.

“Inject a little modern-day bohemian into your autumn dressing with vintage blooms. Wear dramatic botanical prints and moody hues styled with sumptuous feathers.”

The Bare Minimum

Off-colour palettes and paired back simplicity was a huge trend seen at Burberry, Roland Mouret, JW Anderson and Proenza Schouler .. and just like that pale became interesting again. Neutrals are back on the runways for the last few seasons and we saw them again at the autumn-winter 2020 shows. Powder shades of beige, camel, mocha and off-whites are best suited in city-sleek tailoring. Style your creamy colours with sumptuous textures, play with shades, and proportions to create a chic and classy head-to-toe outfit (take inspiration from fashion Blogger Aimee Song). With neutrals, you can play with layering and accessorizing – style your tonal outfit with a pair of gold-plated earring. To create a more exciting look add a colour accent to your outfit with a statement bag or a pair of colourful pumps, as seen at Jacques Mus AW 20 show.

“The tone-on-tone look will take you from spring all the way to autumn-winter 2020!”
